Vertigo vs. The Innocents

This is a toughie. Vertigo is one of Hitch's suspense classics, a deeply personal film in the vein of my favorite film of all time, Notorious. But The Innocents is, hands down, the scariest movie I've ever seen -- and stylistically superb, too. Geez....

I need to rewatch Vertigo, it left me pretty cold on my first viewing. But when I saw The Innocents I was deeply impressed. I later read the book it's based on, which oddly enough isn't as good as the film. Deborah Kerr was a treasure.

The Innocents scared the hell out of me.Its a creeping horror and you never really get any answers so you end up thinking about it for some Days to come.
