Mondo candido is one of those anarchic 70's comedies that could only come from that decade. It's loosely based on Voltaire's Candide. In this case, the book was better. I've read some reviews of Mondo candido that compare it to Fellini's work, but the film only exhibits the cruder and more obnoxious aspects of his style. Avenging Angel is the lame sequel to the teen prostitute movie Angel. It, too, has lots of annoying humor (and a really annoying character call Johnny Glitter). Trying to decide which movie bugs me more is no small task. I guess I'll give this to Mondo candido. There's a scene toward the end where a bunch of women are showering, and then suddenly a war breaks out. More movies need that.
