Sybil was such a powerful story of dissociative identity disorder and was so well acted by Sally Field that before I knew the premise of the movie, I was fairly certain that I was watching a horror movie or thriller. On the other hand, I was surprised after watching Van Helsing that the movie wasn't intended to be a horror/action parody. Maybe I had too lofty expectations due to the lead actor and the premise. Lesson learned.
