It helps Next that I like Biel, Moore and Cage. It's just the idea behind the film that bugs me. If I don't think about it, then Next is a good time-waster. From Paris with Love doesn't have such an obstacle to overcome. There's just lots of unapologetic killing of villains by John Travolta. So, as mediocre-yet-kind-of-fun movies go, From Paris with Love is less likely to tax my patience. Maybe if Biel and Moore were the leads in From Paris (Moore as Travolta, but not bald) it would be a true classic.
