This match up makes me realize how much I like Sidney Lumet.

After getting this again, I can say that I like Dog Day Afternoon slightly more than 12 Angry Men, although both are floating around my Top 20.

Tough. Great sciptes. Great acting. The problem with 12 Angry Men is that it's waaaaay too stagy. Thinking on it, I kinda prefer Dog Day Afternoon.

12 Angry Men is more gripping.

Tough one, but I'll go with 12 Angry Men.

Dog Day Afternoon is pretty good, but it drags after a while. 12 Angry Men, though, is excellent. No contest here.

Pacino is unstoppable in Dog Day, but everyone is unstoppable in 12 Angry Men.

Al Pacino puts in the best performance of all time in Dog Day Afternoon, so I'm swayed towards it.

Both are brilliant films, 12 Angry Men remains Lumet's best (that I've seen).

I’m really getting into Sidney Lumet as of late! Both gripping, well acted and, despite not having a big scale, still remain gripping, fresh and eventful. You don’t need to visit every city in the world with fast-paced explosion-filled sequences to be great (in fact, that’s not my idea of a good film); you need great acting, great dialogue and an investing plot. That being said; my God is 12 Angry Men so brilliant and effective at what it does! In my top 15 for sure!
