Bride of Frankenstein vs. Bram Stoker's Dracula

Love never dies. <3 ...even when we belong dead.

Bride of Frankenstein is the classic Frankensein movie from the early Hollywood horror era. Romantic. Philosophical. And yet still a horror movie. Coppola cannot match it in anyway, and apart from Gary Oldman it's not a great film.

I watched both of these for the first time today, and while dated, Bride of Frankenstein is 100% better for me. I do find Coppola's film slightly scarier, and I think Oldman gives the best performance in either movie, but Bride has such iconic moments. It's both funnier and more moving. And while Colin Clive is no great shakes as an actor, he's better than Keanu Reeves.

Bram Stoker's Dracula wasn't bad, but it's too damn long. I hardly cared for any of the characters. I like these monster movies the old way, so I'd take Bride or 1931's Dracula any day over Coppola's movie.
