One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest have much better content and acting performances. Even Alien's influence can't topple that.

I've only seen Cuckoo's Nest once and I loved it. I've seen Alien three times and I've come to love it. For now I'm going with Alien.
In space...no one can put it in the basket!
Alien slips by. Still intense to this day....
In space...no one can steal a boat and go fishing.
I'm on TeamAlien for this one.
Alien vs. Cuckoo. Why didn't they make that movie instead?
If Will Sampson was still alive, I would have liked to see Chief vs. Alien.

Well, one of the great things about having the setting of your story inside of a mental institution is you can't help but have plenty of colorful characters; that's certainly the best aspect of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Seeing the rebellious (but not quite crazy) main character being thrust into this world of oddballs is what makes the film so interesting to watch. In contrast, the characters in Alien are a bit bland and unmemorable. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest wins this one...

Definitely One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest...Its fast paced, its entertaining and Nicholson's performance is amazing! Alien always bored me. Interesting but its really slow burn bores me.

I love them both, but Alien comes out on top.
