Two of my favourite movies of the year, and two surprisingly similar films, what with their striking cinematography and heavily allegorical and metaphorical storylines. I'm just about siding with A Monster Calls, but both are definitely ones to watch several times.

Nocturnal Animals was not what I thought it would be. Left me dissapointed. A Monster Calls strikes a chord that most films only wish they could.
