I found The Philadelphia Story to be somewhat overrated. The Force Awakens wins this matchup.

Screwball comedy with Cary Grant + Jimmy Stewart > overrated, overly slick, overly commercial properties.

The force awakens is not my favorite starwars movie, but it's still great. I love James Stewart and Carey Grant but Philadelphia story isn't the better movie in my opinion. It came across as a little bland.

I enjoy both movies, but good grief, the hype around the New Hope remake kind of overwhelmed me. Philadelphia Story wins here.
