Roman Holiday vs. The Swan

Audrey's screen debut, and Grace's swan song. I think Grace was one of the most beautiful women ever to light up the silver screen, but of the two, I think Audrey was the more natural actress. That naturalness was never better captured than in Roman Holiday, whereas The Swan was just a pretty showcase for a very placid Grace performance. HER best work was for directors who could stir her into action, into passion, as in her three films for Hitchcock. Roman Holiday wins this royal match.
