Two subversive westerns that take vastly different approaches to the genre. McCabe and Mrs. Miller is a more subtle and auteur driven work by I prefer the more classically constructed High Noon.
Two of my favorite westerns. I give a slight edge to McCabe & Mrs Miller because of the cast and Altman's direction.
High Noon is an all-time great western. For me, this matchup isn't close.
