The Conversation vs. Dog Day Afternoon

Unbelievably difficult decision. Two of the best American movies ever made. Probably 'The Conversation', by a nose.

Whoa, I wouldn't rank either of these among the best American films ever made (not even close), but I will credit Dog Day Afternoon for at least being a watchable crime drama. The Conversation was...well, let's just say I didn't like it much.

Didn't care much for The Conversation. It's too self-indulgent, Dog Day Afternoon is a classic.

John Cazale was the best supporting actor of the 1970's. The Conversation is pretty good, but Coppola's other work in the 70's shits all over it. Dog Day Afternoon is a favorite of mine. Attica! Attica!

The Conversation is good but Dog Day Afternoon is phenomenal. Pacino gives my favorite performance of all time.
