Red Peony Gambler is about a woman is seeking vengeance for the murder of her Yakuza father. Compared to other Japanese movies with women who kick ass from around that time period, Red Peony Gambler is quite tame. Even dull. The Hurt Locker didn't wow me, but it did hold my attention throughout. The explosions probably helped.
