Drowning by Numbers is way easier to enjoy without having to deal with frequent irritation and revulsion. The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover is Peter Greenaway's most (in)famous film, but I hate it as much as I love it. That damn kid with the high-pitched singing drives me nuts, and a lot of the movie is unpleasant. Helen Mirren is a top notch lady, and The Cook is visually beautiful, but damn. Drowning by Numbers is so much more fun, and almost nothing about it bugs me.
