Z for Zachariah is one of my favorite books, but the movie turned it into a really cliche love triangle with overtones of faith vs. science. 10 Cloverfield Lane, despite having no direct connection to the Robert C. O'Brien novel, is closer to it thematically--and, despite being less "artsy" than the Craig Zobel film (or perhaps because of it), it's the better movie.
