If I had to pick a movie about what really goes on in "wholesome communities" I'd pick Hot Fuzz..

Frank Booth is a far more interesting example of the rotting disease that exists just beneath society's civilized sheen. I mean, the villains in Hot Fuzz just want to win the "Best Village Award" or whatever. If Frank Booth moved into their village, they'd have to burn the whole thing down just to cleanse away the filthy evil. Hot Fuzz is a good show, and easily my favorite Edgar Wright flick. But Blue Velvet helped set the standard for how I judge all movies. I was just a teenager when I first saw it, and it transformed me inside. Hot Fuzz cannot make that claim.
