Bergman beats Kubrick on this one

The Shining is more watchable if for no other reason than length, but Fanny and Alexander is a magical experience. Bergaman & Kubrick, both masters of detail, here though I have to give it to Bergman. From his magnificent sets, the glorious use of color, and the patient to develop so many intriguing characters gives it to Fanny & Alexander.
I love Bergman but Kubrick 's masterpiece horror show wins this.
