Gerald's Game vs. Dolores Claiborne

Well, two great Stephen King adaptations, similar themes. I guess they're actually even connected movies. Gerald's Game is a nice piece of tension and truly agonizing, with a brilliant star turn by Carla Gugino and complicated themes that may be triggers for some people, but that are handled very well. Dolores is also a great movie in it's own way, although it might be harder to penetrate (bad choice of word, I know), but Kathy Bates is just as great and it's incredibly well structured. It got my attention for most of its runtime because it's really written well. I like the feeling of 90's, but I might as well just go with Gerald's Game, perhaps because of how Mike Flanagan just pulled it out masterfully well. Give me the books and the story might've been different.
