City of God is a Brazilian masterpiece. Both are good action films about the wrongdoings of Man. City of God is a better much more thought out drama.

City of God is pretty good, but Saving Private Ryan is unbelievable amazing. Watching Saving Private Ryan as a kid is an emotionally moving, enjoyable and (no offence intended) a fun experience. The action is hardcore and great and even now it is good to watch, the only change is that I dont focus on the action as much, more dialogue.
