I've never thought to compare these 2 films. I guess that's why I'm on Flickchart! My love of sci-fi means District 9 wins this round.
District 9 is one of the best sci-fi films I have ever seen by City of God is one of the best films in general that I have ever seen. It wins.

City of God is great. They are both really violent movies, but they are violent for the sake of telling a good and intruiging story. I have to go with District 9
