City of God vs. Seven Samurai

This is a really tough one. The reality and brutality of City of God sucks you in right from the beginning and doesn't relent. On the other hand, The Seven Samurai slowly builds up to and epic final battle. Both are extremely captivating and rewatchable but for know I'm going with team Kurosawa/Mifune.

Both films have meaningful endings and are full of action. I did not understand Seven Samurai that much, maybe because it is not my era. City of God on the other hand appealed to me so much.
