I like American History X more, but I wouldn't be a film snob if I didn't go with 2001

As good as American History X is, there is no way it can beat 2001 on my flickchart.
No contest here. 2001 is obviously the superior film.
American History X was certainly a more meaningful experience for me. Edward Norton's best performance. 2001 just didn't appeal to me. HAL was interesting but overall, not very memorable.

Currently American History X is rated higher on my chart than 2001 (#50 vs #61). However I think I will still pick 2001. Certainly one of the most poignant and thought provoking films that I have ever seen, and a film that gets better the more you think about it.
