Your early-1990s-period-piece-movies-about-playwrights-who-meet-dangerous-killers... double feature. Barton Fink is a misfire for the Coens, and Bullets Over Broadway is a rare Woody Allen film that doesn't alienate audiences.

This is one of the very rare occasions when I choose a Woody Allen film over one from the mighty Coen brothers.
