Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest vs. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Revenge of the Sith.

Pirates gets the win.

Pirates 2, 3 and 4 are bad. SW prequels are bad. Tough choice!

SW prequel was better. I don't say this very often

RotS has the better overall outcome as a film in that it at least brings to a close a underwhelming prequel franchise with the most satisfying ending possible under the circumstances. On the other hand, Pirates 2 is slightly more entertaining, and despite its overall mediocrity, I will defend it as one of the best visual effects films of the noughties, in that the implementation of them worked very well and they still look convincing nearly a decade on (particularly Davy Jones and his crew). The same can not be said for the effects of the prequel trilogy, which thanks to George Lucas's unfettered obsession with CGI looked dated pretty much within months of the films' release. So for those reasons, Pirates 2 wins by a hair.

Dead Man's Chest is much better
