The Thin Blue Line vs. Anatomy of a Murder

It was moider. One fictional, one not. Errol Morris takes the Jimmy Stewart role for real in The Thin Blue Line. A great documentary not only telling the story of a crime and a miscarriage of justice but playing a large part in correcting that miscarriage. It's got a Philip Glass score that together with some great shots, build a sense of momentum towards both the end of the origianl trial and the correction of the mistake. The final shot of the tape recorder is particularly brilliant. Anatomy of a Murder has a much more successful defence team, and also brings to light some particularly gritty evidence. It's great, but I'm taking the dcumentary for the win in this case.
