This one's tough for me. Both are great animated films. Coraline shook me emotionally though. It was like being flung back and enduring nightmares I might've had as a kid. It was more jarring and disturbing than even most modern horror films. On the flip side, though, The Secret of Kells is quite unique in its presentation as an Irish animated film and it's a visual wonder with a great story and great heart. While I think my knee-jerk reaction is Kells, I think I'm gonna have to go with my gut and say Coraline.
