No comments??? Wow! Alien should run away with this and is my pick as well, but I think this is a very interesting matchup of outer space sci-fi at its finest.

Apes is a much better film. Alien is kind of boring.
I'll probably go with Alien, Planet of the Apes had some good ideas but it was ruined for me by an overt reliance on making Scopes Monkey Trial parallels.

Both are fabulous films. But it's Alien 5-1

I love POTA. As a franchise, I would pick it over the Alien franchise, but Alien is a far better film. Certainly in my top 10, while POTA is in my Top 100, maybe Top 50

I never liked Alien. Internet hyped it up. POTA much better, including the remake.
