When every one was making a big deal about how ground breaking Brokeback Mountain was, how it was the first movie that the oscars recognized that addressed homosexuality, I would get confused and say what about Philadelphia, which is also a better movie.

philadelphia is mostly pretty bland and forgettable, but with a few moments of sublimity. meanwhile, all of brokeback is majestically beautiful
