The Island. And this isn't a contest. But both films tackle the same cinematography.
Shutter Island is amazing, but not as amazing as TDKR.

Im going with shutter island. Both are amazing films.
The Dark Knight Rises, the plot of Shutter Island is too outrageous to carry the weight of the film.
Yeah, because a guy dressed up as a bat trying to stop Mr. Sillyvoice from blowing up an entire city isn't outrageous at all.
TDKR wins....outrageous or not.

Hmm, a great thriller from Scorsese or the end of Nolan's epic trilogy. Think I'll go with Rises.

Shutter Island is better. TDKR is a great action film, but SI is better though.

I genuinely don't care much for either film - TDKR being the worst Batman film imo and Shutter Island being Scorsese's most forgettable. But I do prefer Batman over something forgettable.
