Old Scorsese VS New Scorsese. Nothing wrong with Shutter Island, but it's not Taxi Driver.
Taxi Driver is a film to remember. Shutter Island is one to forget.
I wouldn't call Shutter Island forgettable, but there is a clear quality gap between it and Taxi Driver.

Taxi Driver barely wins.

Taxi Driver has made its mark as a classic but Shutter Island hasn't had the time to do so. For now I'm going to stick with the one that entertained me the most.
