This one's interesting. A lot of holiday films really stink; these two are all right. I really enjoyed The Polar Express the first time I saw it, but it hasn't held up as well under repeat viewings. Meanwhile, I've only seen Elf once, but it was probably the best movie I've ever seen that starred Will Ferrell. (I am not a fan.) It was actually pretty funny and sweet, and I think I'm going to have to choose it here. Zemeckis really needs to get away from the mo-cap stuff and get back to making real movies.

Elf is miles past Express. Much more character.
