If Beale Street Could Talk vs. Rear Window

As much as I appreciate the skill involved in the making of Rear Window (1954), I can scarcely remember anyone in the film other than Jimmy Stewart and feel like a good degree of my appreciation of the film is in light of its pedigree. On the other hand, Beale Street wowed me with its entire package - film, acting, story to create a cinematic experience that will be difficult to forget. Take me to Tennesse by way of 1970's Harlem.
