Edge of Tomorrow vs. Boyhood

Boyhood is a special movie, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't try my patience a bit. It's a long, uneventful ride. Edge of Tomorrow is an easy winner for me.

Both top 10 of the year for me as of now. Boyhood takes it though. Powerful stuff.

Boy Hood is one of the greatest technical achievements in the history of Cinema. Yeah Yeah, Yeah, But the story is Just average. Edge wins

Like Caesar, I wasn't wowed by Boyhood. A technical achievement for sure, but a simple and - dare I say it - fairly manipulative film. Just like life. See, my comment is the greatest comment in the history of the internet. I spent 12 years writing it too, by the way. And Flickchart is also like life, because...eh...we...like...ranking......stuff. There! Brilliant.

I was 100x more entertained by Edge of Tomorrow...

Edge of Tomorrow is good but I loved how touching Boyhood is and it really showed how fast life can go by if you're not living in the moment.

Boyhood was more meaningful to me and an incredible achievement

I spoke too soon. Just rewatched Boyhood and while I still loved it, I didn't love it as much. Now going with Edge of Tomorrow. (I think these are the only two 2014 films I've watched twice already.)

Boyhood. I mean Edge of Tomorrow is a fantastic sci-fi action film and all, but Boyhood is an experience. Sure Boyhood might be uneventful but it's a beautiful movie. Edge, as I said is a great sci-fi movie with clever writing, but the ending didn't please me all that much. It was okay. Boyhood is masterful from the beginning to the end.
