The Giant Gila Monster vs. The Robot vs. the Aztec Mummy

I love B-level monster movies. They are incredibly cheesy, but generally they're good fun. Occasionally one will surprise you and be good on its own right. Them! is one of those movies that is much better than it has any right to be; The Blob is another one. Sadly, neither of these movies achieve that level. The Giant Gila Monster falls into the so-bad-it's-good-again category, where you just have to sit back and enjoy all the chaos that's going on. Everyone tries hard, from the actors to the crew, and you can throw it on any time for an enjoyable barely-75 minutes. The Robot vs. the Aztec Mummy, unfortunately, fails to even achieve that accomplishment. I saw it once, and once will do, thank you very much. The first 30 minutes of its 65 minute running time is a flashback to the previous two movies in the series, and when this one finally gets going, there's not much to hold your interest. This is incredibly disappointing, because with a title like The Robot vs. The Aztec Mummy, your imagination just runs wild with the possibilities. The Giant GIla Monster wins, because it is worth at least one viewing. As for The Robot vs. the Aztec Mummy, just look at the movie poster and imagine what might happen. I guarantee you whatever you think up will be better than what actually happens.
