German Expressionism at its finest. Caligari has creepy sets and Nosteratu has the terrifying Max Schreck. Nosteratu wins because the death scene at the end.

I felt both were lacking in a plot, but I can forgive that given that the narrative feature was relatively new then. Nosferatu was dreadfully boring though.

Both are good silent horrors from the 20s. I prefer Nosferatu though.

I'm a pretty big fan of silent movies and yet I didn't like Nosferatu. The movie was just very slow and boring and it wasn't scary at all. Caligari had a way better story, better pacing and it's far scarier. I'm going with The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari for sure.

Nosferatu is a quite mythical horror movie that aged very well in my opinion. Really, still some quite terrifying imagery in there. That being said, yes, it does require patience and it's not always rewarding. Cabinet of Dr. Caligari was way more immersive, interesting and entertaining in my opinion. That might even of be a close one, but Caligari is the one I'd rather re-watch some day.

Nosferatu....
