The Man Who Would Be King vs. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre

Two men go into the mountains in search of treasure. A man who's been around longer warns them they're in for a rough time. They find the treasure, but one of the men gets too greedy, and in the end it all blows away and the greedier man is killed by members of the local population. Amazing that that synopsis describes both movies, though of course one could write a summary that highlights their differences as well.

The Man Who Would Be King is definitely great, but The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is the best film John Huston ever made.

Identical movies for the most part, but Man has more historical depth, which I appreciate.
