I started watching Underworld on three separate occasions before I could muster the interest to finish it. At the the end I felt mostly nothing. Not irritated or entertained. The Evil Dead remake did irritate me the first time I saw it because I felt it should've been scarier. The original, as primitive as it was, still had a creepy vibe. The remake had better gore but no chilling moments (though the arm severing scene was memorably nasty). After a second viewing I like it slightly more, since my expectations had changed. At least it does have the gore. Underworld is just silly and bland. There's nothing to go back to.

I'll definitely take the stylish, gothy fun of Underworld over the dire boredom of the Evil Dead remake.
