My Man Godfrey vs. Last Chance Harvey

Last Chance Harvey is a favorite from the past ten years. But I'm going with My Man Godfrey here, it's a wonderful classic screwball comedy. Powell is great as Godfrey the butler!

There is no contest for me simply because these two films occupy different spheres. I too found Last Chance Harvey charming. Still, My Man Godfrey possesses a sweet, appealing aire. Perhaps the greatest screwball comedy ever conceived, it focuses on the repercussions of The Great Depression and the journey of a wealthy soul- searching philanthropist to discover his true calling and true love with a flighty heiress filled with a heart of gold. Two genuinely good people who aren't pushovers but have to be hold-outs until they resolve the age old question about how the other half live.
