Nobody's Fool vs. Twilight

A drama and a detective film with the same star, director, and writers. Twilight is fun and has a splendid cast, but I wish the plot was a little more labyrinthine, like the noirs it is trying to emulate. You can't help thinking that, regardless of how entertaining it is, a movie with that cast and premise should have been even better. Nobody's Fool is satisfying on a much deeper level.
