Aww, early Wes Craven battle! While I love the remake it inspired, Last House '72 is an unfortunate mess. Hills Have Eyes '77, on the other hand, is still the best film in its series, full of unsettling menace and surprising emotion.

Both are pretty brutal, but I liked the concept of The Hills Have Eyes more, so it wins. Pretty close battle though...

Not close at all. Last House on the Left would've been controversial and disturbing, but it lacks tension and I hardly give a shit about the characters. The Hills Have Eyes was certainly dated, but it was interesting and intense. It's pretty good imho.
