The Young Victoria vs. Dogtooth

I guess these are both about young people living a sheltered life. The Young Victoria lacked sufficient scheming and treachery, or something. The movie was enjoyable enough, but there was only one character in the film who caused any real conflict. And he wasn't that menacing. The rest of the film was just Victoria learning the royal ropes and some romance stuff. Dogtooth is pretty unnerving, in a humorously twisted sort of way. Even with Emily Blunt in her period finery, The Young Victoria doesn't have the impact of Dogtooth. While Victoria had to have people escort her up and down the stairs (a tedious safety measure), the kids in Dogtooth got a beating if they even watched a movie. That's just terrible.
