The Top 20 Films of 2021, Readjusted
As the soft, gooey center in a trio of years marking a global pandemic, 2021 was a rough year for the movies. Still, as we do every year here at Flickchart, last January we presented the then-current Top 20 Films of 2021, as determined by the rankings of our users. As time marches on, these rankings evolve as more users see more movies and make more rankings. How have fourteen months’ worth of new rankings affected this list? Read on to find out.
One caveat: With the Marvel Cinematic Universe expanding into television, 2021 marked the first year since we started making these lists with 2016 that the Top 20 list included miniseries, which are usually rankable on Flickchart. For the purposes of that list, we left them out to focus on feature films. A year later there is only one miniseries on the list, and rather than leave it off we’ll expand the list to 21 so we can give this well-regarded miniseries its due.
