  1. It’s amazing to me that we live in an era where such an effects-heavy film could have a scheduled release date 18 months away without even having a director or cast in place. The original sequels required three years apiece to plan and produce.

      That is pretty astounding. You go from the 11 CGI shots in T2 taking months and months to put together, to this. Interesting that you point that out.

      I like the comments from Marshall that they will continue with the animatronics, though. There’s too much dependence on CGI nowadays, when it’s so much better to do everything you can practically. (This is one thing Christopher Nolan knows. Peter Jackson, too; his use of miniatures when he could have just used CGI for The Lord of the Rings is an important distinction.)
