First Teaser Posters for ‘White House Down’
Olympus Has Fallen is barely out of the gate (see our review here), and now we get the first glimpse at this year’s other White House-under-assault movie, White House Down, in the form of three teaser posters.
The teaser poster for Olympus featured a burning flag fluttering down in front of a White House under siege. The competition is taking a different approach, presenting some “calm before the storm” images with the tagline “It Will Start Like Any Other Day”. Take a look.
White House Down features Channing Tatum as a D.C. police officer who is visiting the White House with his daughter when a paramilitary group led by Zero Dark Thirty‘s Jason Clarke invades. Of course, Tatum springs into action to save the President, played by Jamie Foxx.
Directed by Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, 2012), White House Down opens June 28. A first trailer for the film is due to debut on Tuesday.

You just gotta love the originality of Hollywood, eh?
It’s almost surprising, given how many films Hollywood cranks out in a given year, that such similar projects don’t happen more often. Sometimes, it actually works. Armageddon and Deep Impact were both released in the same year, yet were both reasonably successful.
Even though they may not be the most artistic, I actually kind of like these posters. Somewhat more original than the typical derivative Photoshopped headshots that always grace movie posters nowadays.
Yeah, the posters work well.
