DiCaprio in Talks for Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’
Leonardo DiCaprio has reportedly been in talks with Quentin Tarantino to take the lead villain role in the upcoming flick Django Unchained as Calvin Candie. Candie is the ruthless owner of Candyland, “a despicable club in Mississippi where female slaves are exploited as sex objects and males are pitted against each other in “mandingo” style death matches. Candie is a slave’s worst nightmare and the freed slave Django must cross him in order to reclaim his wife.” This would be quite a reversal for DiCaprio as his biggest turns as of late have always been the hero role. I’m quite interested in seeing if he is confirmed for the role.
Christoph Waltz has been confirmed as the German bounty hunter who trains Django. But the titular character has not yet been picked. Rumored actors for the project have included Will Smith, but more recently Idris Elba, Jamie Foxx and Chris Tucker.
