"Since Troll 2 is so infamous, no one ever really talks about it’s older brother… Well, maybe they’re brothers in-law, cause Troll 2 has nothing to do with the first, in fact it has goblins, not trolls. But I watched both back to back on a trip with my Dad. Needless to say, we both thought they were atrocious. But, we loved Troll 2, and hated Troll. Let’s get the obvious out of the way, Troll 2 is a disasterpiece, to no one’s surprise. It’s one of the worst movies ever made, it’’a nowhere near scary and makes no sense yada yada you already know this. But what you also heard is that it’s-so-bad-it’s-good, which, I agree fully. It’s one of my favorite bad movies. I was just laughing the whole time from the pure absurdity and incompetence with it. But again you already know this, so what about Troll? Well, surprisingly, it’s almost as bad. It makes about as much sense as 2, with more stupid alien characters. It’s a mess that’s just awful. But it is technically a better film slightly, just by having a little bit of less plot holes/character errors etc. and the pacing is the one thing that is massively better then 2. So why did my Dad and and I hate this one and loved 2? Well it’s simple, Troll 2 is hysterical while Troll makes you wanna rip your hair out from pure confusion. Troll doesn’t try to have any fun at all, just throwing bullcrap at you with a straight face. While Troll 2 is having one heck of a time, being garbage in the best kind of way, it almost feels like it’s laughing at itself sometimes. It’s easy to see why Troll isn’t as popular as it’s younger brother in-law, it’s just simply confusing and frustrating, not goofy and funny. So while Troll is the better film (not by much however), Troll 2 is far more entertaining and fun. "
