Thanks. You too! Although I'm not sure if the Tree of Life will be better than 2001. I'll have to see it myself and find out.

They are very similiar but I found The Tree of Life to be more intimate and personal but it's all an opinion!

I'm excited to see it. I love Terrence Malick. Badlands is one of my favorite movies and I thought The New World was vastly underrated.

The only other Malick film I've seen was Days of Heaven which was great. You need to see the Tree of Life its just so beautiful. Also I'm about to watch Spirited Away seen it?

Oh yeah, Kick-Ass is awesome. The first time I watched it, I liked it enough to buy it. Then I watched it again. And again. And again. With almost every viewing, I like it more. The movie also works on multiple levels. Not only does it work as a superhero movie, but also a (romantic) comedy, a revenge movie, a thriller, a violent action movie, and I may even go as far as saying it works as social commentary. It's a very entertaining movie with great performances and a good message.

To be honest I can't say much about your top 10, because I haven't seen most of them.

I have mixed feelings about 2001. It has great visuals, but (almost) no story, and I personally find it pretty boring, mostly because nothing happens. The movie certainly has a message, but for me it's too vague to understand. Not my kind of movie.

I'm currently watching Raging Bull, and I'm liking it. More so than Goodfellas and Casino, which seem to go on forever. Not that they're boring or bad movies, not at all. But they feel 'endless', if you know what I mean. I stopped watching them and I doubt if I will return to them in the near future.

Raging Bull is amazing, but GoodFellas is too. If Raging Bull is my favorite Scorsese than GoodFellas is a close second. It is a very long movie, but I think it goes by pretty swift. Casino was a little harder to get invested in but in the end I thought it was great too... but then I have a soft spot for Scorsese.
I will definitely give Kick-Ass another chance. There were parts of it I really enjoyed, but I was in a hyper-critical mood when I saw it so it deserves another viewing.
If you prefer shorter movies the best ones on my top 10 to check out would be Casablanca, City Lights, Vertigo and Singin' in the Rain if you haven't seen them already.

I think I'll give City Lights a shot, mostly because it's considered Chaplin's best work (well, according to both Flickchart and ImDb) and I've seen parts of The Great Dictator, and those were fun to watch. I'll report back to you when I've seen it.

City Lights is the only Chaplin film I've seen, but it's the first movie that made me cry because I was so happy.

I finished watching City Lights yesterday. Good movie! The preparation for the boxing match and the boxing match itself are the best parts of the movie in my opinion. And the ending is very heartwarming. I think I'll watch more of Chaplin's work in the near future, like Modern Times and The Great Dictator.

The ending gets me every time, but the boxing match is definitely a highlight. I definitely want to see more Chaplin too, but unless TCM is running a marathon it's hard to catch his work. Well, unless you shell out 35 bucks for a personal copy.

You can watch some of his works (for free) on Youtube. I found Modern Times and The Gold Rush on there.

I'm always worried when people tell me about great twists. I recently watched Reservoir Dogs and predicted the twist in the first five minutes. I also guessed the plot twist in Wanted from the trailer. It's more of a curse than a blessing. lol.

It's very very good, but I'd recommend seeing it alone and at night. It's a long movie, but if you watch it in the right frame of mind it's truly amazing.

It is a very mysterious movie and it's hard to sum up its greatness because it took me to a completely different state of mind the first time I saw it.

2001 is one of those movies that is really hard to describe and even harder to explain why it's so great. It's an amazing technical film, but it's the feeling I got seeing it that made it so special.

Hey man, thanks for accepting the invite! I had to invite you simply because we share the same #1 film: Casablanca. I can't say enough about that film. Grace, class, and elegance are three words that immediately come to mind when I think about Casablanca. Also, we share 3 of the same films in our top 5: Casablanca, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Vertigo. We actually have Casablanca and 2001 in the exact same spots: #1 & #3 respectively. I have Vertigo at #2. Just a fascinating and intoxicating film! I actually lost count of how many times I watched it just last year.

Casablanca will probably always be my favorite. Vertigo took a few views to go so high. It didn't really hit me until after seeing it twice. And then 2001 was a case of instant love. It blew me away.
