Good morning, or afternoon or evening depending on what time you see this. This is my second account. Why do I need a second account? Because I made a bet with my mate to see if I can watch 500 movies in 2018 (only feature films. Documentaries, TV Movies and Short Films don’t count). Now time to add movies and to don the Peter Gabriel wallpaper!

So I watched 226 movies in the space of 12 months (33% of the movies on my main account). While this was an interesting experiment, I’m never doing something like this again, haha. I will only continue updating, adding and commenting on this account if I watch anymore 2018 movies. My review of 2018: This wasn’t a horrible year in movies but it was certainly very bland. Almost every time I went to the movies, I left with that feeling of; “I didn’t hate it but I also didn’t love it” and then I would quickly forget it on the way home. The good wasn’t very good but I missed a lot of the bad so I don’t feel like I should comment on the bad. Look at FlickChart’s top 20 2018 Movies, the list isn’t that great for a “best of the year” list. This year I’m fairly certain computers were writing and directing our pictures. As overhyped blockbusters with millions of dollars pumped into it rolled out, the plots seemed more formulatic and less interesting. The only two movies that felt like they could be serious contenders as the “best of the year” is Searching which was gripping and had great attention to detail and the haunting Hereditary. There were other very good movies but they are just filler in my top 10. Anyway, we survived. Be thankful for your health and let’s hope 2019 has more excitement.
