Poorly directed despite MacNaughton's Python bonafides. For the most part these renditions of the classic sketches aren't as energetic or well-paced as the original televised versions. (The Kilimanjaro sketch is an exception; at one point Idle and Cleese both nearly break.) The new animations are interesting to see for Python completists, but casual viewers should always watch Flying Circus instead.

I'm a huuuge Python fan, but I fail to see any reason for this movie to exist. It's just a worse version of sketches you probably already know. Just watch Flying Circus, I say!
