First. :-)

Really good. I still prefer the first two "Before" films by Linklater though.

A transcendent film in every regard. A true accomplishment. I simply loved it.

What makes it such an accomplishment? Filming a movie over a 12 year period doesn't automatically make it a masterpiece.

He didn't say the reason it was a masterpiece because it was filmed over a 12 year period. That's one of the very impressive elements of the film, but clearly if you're just focusing on that than you have missed everything else...

Boyhood is far more than just a 12 years journey. It's the small happiness, the minute moments which the director wants to capture. And he captures is brilliantly. That's the acconplishment MasterofMovies is talking about

I don't know, man. I think Flickchart works like an algorithm or something, so when more people rank it higher in their Flickcharts, it'll go up. Hopefully

Literally just watched the movie and it was great. A great coming of age story full of good acting and soundtrack and everything really. The running time didn't bother me at all. I have a feeling this will win some awards at The Oscars.

@Area_hulk: It's because it's new. Flickchart's global chart value older movies higher. As this just came out it's not gonna rank high.

(Bring back the zeitgeist chart, Flickchart 2.0!)

This is a superb film that masterfully shows us the epic endeavour of growing up.(From a male's perspective) I was joyfully entertained throughout this masterpiece and am happy to be lucky enough to see this film art.

The best film of 2014 that I've seen so far. I'm still waiting to watch Birdman and Whiplash though. Here in the UK, they have a cinema release in early 2015.

Probably the greatest overhyped film of all-time. Make of that what you will.

I would have to be a fool not to acknowledge that there is something unique and special being done on film. Richard linklatter deserves an Oscar for best directing, and I'm sure he'll get it. Having said that, I think if one were to judge it just for the story, you would find that it's just an average coming of age flick.

I thought it was good but just because it took 12 years to make doesn't make it one of the greatest films of the decade. Also, the kid doesn't really say anything.
